Fishing village

Nothing comforts me more than food so today, I shall blog about food. Again, another outdated food post from last month.

It was one of the last few places we went together before the bf left Penang. We ate so much on his last week here. We squeezed all our favorite things to eat, places he wanted to take me to, things we said we would try together but never got the chance to, places recommended by people... so many places to go, things to eat but only, ONE stomach, well TWO in total if we decided to share and try different foods.

Of all the places he took me to, this is one of my top favorite place. And for the amount of food we ordered that night, I really think it's worth the $$$ damage we paid. Looking back at the pictures reminds me again of what a bunch of gluttons we can be -_-"

Situated in one of the corners in Teluk Bahang (somewhere near End of the World seafood restaurant) is this small chu char seafood place.

Nothing fancy at all; a few aquariums of live seafood on display can be seen, a few tables, perhaps 10 or so, flourescent lights and a few fans to ward off flies and mosquitoes.

I was told that the place is famous for its cheap lobster so we ordered one about 750gm to share.

There are a few cooking styles you can decide on how your lobster is to be cooked. We chose... ermm crap, I don't remember the name @_@ I think it was on the top left of the menu :p

The sauce is creamy, buttery, cheesy and it's very very good! The lobster was fished out alive from the aquarium and obviously "slaughtered" on the spot too. The slightly chewy texture and sweetness from the meat indicating its freshness can be tasted. This, I have to say, definitely orgasmic!

Rating : 10/10!

Other dishes we ordered

Sze Chuan soup

Thick, not too spicy and very generous with the ingredients including crab meat, prawns and squids . For RM8 per bowl, this is super worth it.

Rating : 8/10 (best eaten hot!)

Stir fried Yau Mak in Taujoo sauce

It looks simple but it was pretty good especially cooked in Taujoo sauce.

Rating : 7/10

Fried squid in black pepper sauce

This is indeed addictive. You could eat it nonstop as if you're snacking on potato chips. The black pepper sauce is not too spicy and it's fragrant upon consumption. Recommended!

Rating : 8.5/10

Steamed fish in Teochew Style

Average, normal. We should have left this out. Me and my itchy mouth, itchy cravings. It was so huge we almost exploded by the time we finished.

Rating : 6/10

Scrapped the lobster clean, the sauce is too good! If I still have room in my tummy I would have asked for some bread to eat with the sauce :p

All these for the two of us, I swear it could have fed a family of four. As you can see, we really tried our best to finish everything.

Total damage : RM230

I'm cereal serious, the lobster is too good to pass on!
