It's the day after Christmas, oh Happy Boxing day! And I can't believe I've just finished working on my day off. And now, I'm so hungry that I'm eating chicken curry by itself while typing this. I hope you have had a good Christmas. Mine was ok...it was slow and peaceful in the beginning then it got hectic and stressful.
This was what we did on Christmas day....
yes we played tourist. We as in me, my parents, brother, grandpa and 3 other younger cousins.
I've always wanted to go into the Blue mansion but never got the chance too. Since we didn't have much to do after breakfast, I suggested that we pay this place a visit.
I won't say that I love the Blue Mansion very much as compared to the Green House (that's the famous Peranakan Mansion if you don't know). In fact, I was quite disappointed. If it's not for the interesting history behind it, I would think it's crappy having to pay RM12 for the guided tour. First, the garden outside the place is INFESTED with mosquitoes, and when I complained to the man selling the tickets, he told me a lot of people complained about the mozzies too but interestingly enough, they didn't seem to be too concern to do anything about it. I'm telling you, this place is waiting to give someone dengue if the mozzies are not taken care of ASAP. How can they possibly ensure continuous tourist attraction to the place if the mozzies are feeding mercilessly on every bit of flesh they can land on?
Apart from that, the tour was actually kind of interesting. The interior of the house was as old as it gets, but it's not as properly maintained as the Peranakan Mansion. We were 'educated' on the story of the man who built the mansion, apparently he was quite a smart Chinese dude, the feng shui of the house and some other things... (when the tour gets too long winded, you just sort of zoomed out once in a while) Go for the story but not the mansion itself, unless of course you have too much time on hand to kill.
It was a good experience, and grandpa was certainly very happy when he got to pose with this!
Hey afterall, he used to be a trishaw rider back in the days.
And I found out that trying to kill time when you really have nothing to do is really really hard. Had the 'smartest' idea to go shopping on a public holiday but ended up getting stressed out being stuck in the jam, bravo.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go get the much needed rest before getting ready for the belated Christmas dinner with my awesomesauce friends tonight!
Ciao~
P/S:6th day without the bf, 6 more days to go before I see him again, halfway there!
